Chesnut & Walnut Side Table
Before the advent of mass production, mechanical methods of joining two pieces of wood together had been refined over hundreds of years. Perhaps the most well known of these is the dovetail joint.
This chesnut side table was a homage to those craftspeople that have come before me. Marrying traditional joinery methods with a modern design the table features lapped dovetails on the draw, tenons wedged with Walnut for the legs and a traditional yellow cedar draw base to provide a great aroma and to ward off moths - just like how they used to make them.
The locally sourced ripple chesnut draw front is matched with a hand carved draw handle made from black walnut and finished in an all natural oil finish with 0 VOCs.Should you not be happy with the work you have purchased, we offer a returns policy within the first 10 days of recieving your sculpture.
